Everyday Makeup Routine | February 2014

Wednesday 26 February 2014

Hi bloggers, I thought I might share my everyday makeup routine that I wear on most days whether I'm going shopping, having lunch, going to work or running errands! I love reading other people's makeup routines or Get Ready With Me types of videos just because I like seeing what products they're using.

So every morning after washing my face, brushing my teeth and applying lip balm, I start off by applying the Benefit "It's Potent!" eye cream, then onto the Garnier Matte Moisturiser and letting that sink into my skin. I am loving these two products right now, especially the moisturiser because it reduces shine and keeps my face oil at bay. I then proceed to apply the Australis Mattifying Face Base to ensure that I won't look too oily throughout the day. It's an affordable product and I would recommend this to my oily skin ladies out there! (read my review here).
On most days, I opt for my L'Oreal True Match foundation in W4 as it gives the most natural look and also makes my skin look absolutely flawless without making it look cakey. I would definitely say that this is my favourite foundation and always will be .. until I find a better one haha! I usually then highlight underneath my eyes with Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer in the shade 'Light' but I've been noticing that it creases a few hours of wear time and also clings on to dry spots which is a big NO-NO! So I've stopped using this, but if you guys could recommend me anything that will work well, please comment down below! I would love to know. Back to my routine, I let my foundation set whilst I fill in my brows with Sigma Brow Duo in 'Medium' then go back to setting my foundation with the L'Oreal True Match powder in W3. This powder works wonders on my skin and it was included in my Best in Beauty | 2013 Edition (read it here).
I keep it quite simple on my eyes, typical winged liner with mascara. I love using Maybelline's Master Precision Liquid Liner in 'Black' and then topping off my lashes with Maybelline's The Colossal Waterproof mascara in 'Black' to finish off my eyes. If I'm feeling a little more fancy, I add a highlight shade in my inner tear duct to brighten up my eyes.
I then proceed to contour my cheeks with my favourite bronzer of all time, the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil in 'Milk Chocolate' and then finishing off my face with a variety of blushes. I have so many to choose from and I love most of my blushes but I tend to gravitate towards the Benefit Coralista or Sleek blush in 'Rose Gold'. I absolutely love blushes with shimmer in them as I don't need to use a highlight but when I feel like I need that little extra then I reach for MAC's Soft and Gentle Skin finish.
Last but not least, the lips. I use many different lipsticks depending on the day, my mood and if it will suit my makeup look (which it usually does) but if I was choosing a MLBB then I usually go for MACs See Sheer, Revlon Peach Parfait, Revlon Liptember Pink or Maybelline Lust for Blush!

I wish I could wear eyeshadows more often, even just a simple eye look but because I work in hospitality, I prefer to keep my makeup to a minimum but I would probably go all out if I was working at a beauty counter! Comment down below what your every day makeup routine is, I would love to know :)
