HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Wednesday, 31 December 2014
Haus Of Makeup wishes everyone a Happy New Year! If 2014 wasn't your year, I hope 2015 brings you happiness, peace, joy and prosperity. Make this year a memorable one - spend time with your family and friends, give more, expect less and always start your day with a positive thought. Surround yourself with positive vibes and people and cancel out the negative. You deserve to be happy so as long as you have a good attitude and believe that everything happens for a reason - you'll be okay.

Hi friends, I hope you're all well! Christmas is right around the corner and I thought I would share my wish list for this season. I think the Christmas time is about giving and being thankful for everything that we have. It's my favourite time of the year to spoil my loved ones and show them my appreciation for everything that they have done for me. I'm definitely not asking someone to buy me everything that's on my wish list, I personally would prefer to buy it myself but I love seeing what everyone else have on their wish list so I thought I would be fun to share mine!

Hi guys, happy to see you back on my blog! Now today isn't a review, nor a haul, nor a swatch post .. it's something a little more special. Obviously from reading the title, you would already know what it's about but just for the hell of it, I'll tell you anyways. Mecca Maxima/Cosmetica have launched all holiday palettes, gift sets and new products on their website! Yes, I know, we all have to keep our cool but they're available to shop now via Mecca Maxima and will be released in stores on the 11th of November, so keep your eyes peeled for the new releases from various brands such as NARS, Smashbox, Glamglow, Hourglass and many more.
Throughout this post, I'll be showing you some of the most anticipated holiday sets along with my thoughts and their prices. So let's begin before I start rambling shall we?

We all have those certain products where if a crazy, makeup stealing robber was on the loose, we would desperately hope they won't take them or be interested in. Now surely we have more than just five beauty faves we can't live without but let's narrow it down as much as possible! I'm still undecided about my real, holy grail products but I think the selection of beauty products I have now will suffice, but maybe I will do an updated post in the future. But for now, I'll stop my rambling and jump straight into it.

Hi guys! Back to review a cult fave amongst the YouTube and Blogosphere and it's the famous NARS Creamy Radiant Concealer and I have mine in the shade Medium Custard which is great for girls who have an NC25 to NC30 skin tone. This retails at Mecca Maxima for $35AUD or you can find it on Kiss Makeup NY for $29AUD not including shipping. I've been on the hunt for a good undereye concealer, not only to brighten but to actually conceal my dark circles and also blemishes around my face. It's available in 10 shades, ranging from fair to medium to deep.

Yes, I've done it again. I've gone out and punched a hole in my wallet but you know what? I'm loving everything that I've bought so far and thought it would be fun to share a little haul of all the products I've accumulated over the past two months. I'm pretty sure you all went a little crazy during Priceline's 50% off Maybelline sale and also Mecca Maxima's official price drop and of course I had to pick up a few items since I've had my eye on them for awhile!

Hi guys, welcome back! Another month and a half (haha) has come and gone and it's time to tell you all what my favourites were for their month of July and August! It's crazy to think it's 2015 in another 4 months .. like what? But anyways, let's stop rambling and jump right into the first favourite of the month. By the way guys, I would love to know your opinions on what posts you would like to see in the future. I feel like I do the same thing over and over again and what scares me is that I don't wanna bore you guys! So let me know in the comments below :)

Hi guys! Back with another tag post but this time it's all about LIPSTICKS! Now I know there's a lipstick tag floating around the blogosphere already but this one was made by Amelia Liana and Estée from Essie Button so I decided to do it too and try something different. This post might be a little photo heavy so I hope you guys enjoy! Let's get straight into it!

Hi friends, welcome back! Today I'll be sharing a makeup look which I created for one of my friends, Trish, who basically asked me to come up with a look that would make her go "Wow, is that really me?" when she looked into the mirror. I'm by no means a professional makeup artist but I did have a lot of fun creating this look for her, especially since she's the type of girl to rarely wear any makeup. I decided to go for a more natural finish with a gold smokey eye and bright red lip to compliment her navy dress and gold accessories. Now, let me show you how I created this look!

Welcome back lovelies! Seeing as you've read the title, today will be another monthly faves post. I really don't have much to show you this month but I think there's enough to keep this post interesting (hopefully) so let's get right into it!
It's no secret that I absolutely adore the L'Oreal True Match foundation and of course it had to make another appearance. Whilst traveling overseas, I didn't bring this foundation because I knew that it wasn't convenient like the Maybelline Fit Me Stick or L'Oreal BB Cream but boy was I wrong in not taking this with me! It's just a great drugstore foundation, suitable for everyday wear, great longevity and easily blendable. Matches my skin .. almost perfectly and covers every blemish of my face. There's not enough words to describe how amazing this foundation is. I would totally recommend it!Friday, 27 June 2014
Hi friends! Now, I know YSL lipsticks is definitely the talk of the town with its luxurious, gold packaging but it does stir up some controversy with it's lack of pigmentation and longevity. Well I'm here to give you guys an in-depth review of all (I say all like I have THAT many, lol!) the YSL lipsticks I own and how they work for me. I have them in four shades, one out of three are in different collections - one being from the Rouge Volupté Collection and the other three being from the Volupté Shine Collection. Both lipsticks differ from each other ever so slighty in terms of pigmentation and consistency and the benefits each collection provides.

Hi guys! Yes, I'm back with another haul because .. well .. I did a lot of shopping. I decided to separate this makeup haul into two parts only because if I put it all into one then I would be talking forever and bore you guys! Now, I went a little crazy at the MAC Pro Store in terms of spending in the Pavillion which is located in Bukit Bintang. I didn’t pick up TOO much but I did manage to get my hands on some items which I’m so excited to share with you guys. Let’s start off with the lip products!

Hi friends! I AM BACK FROM MALAYSIA AND SINGAPORE! It's good to be back to the blogging world, I've missed you guys! So I've recently come home from a two week vaykay with my one of my girl friends, Thip, and we bought SO much stuff I don't even know where to begin. Of course I have a massive beauty haul for you guys (and also some fashion pieces too!) I’m loving everything I bought on the trip and everything was well worth the price. Before leaving to Kuala Lumpur, I was researching on what to expect at Sephora in Starhill Gallery as that was my first pit stop! Many reviewers said it was small but decent enough to carry all the beloved brands such as Urban Decay, Tarte, Smashbox, Too Faced, NYX etc - and I think I agree with them. Although, I won’t go into any detail about the layout of the store now but if you have any questions, feel free to drop a comment below! Now let’s get into this exciting haul!

Hi beauties, I'm back with another favourites post and I actually can't remember the last time I posted one! Now, I know monthly faves are supposed to be well .. a monthly thing but I feel like I use the same products over and over again so I can't do this post every month! Well in saying that, I'm excited to share some new favourites for May with you guys and also some products you might have seen before.
Let's start with foundation! I'm lusting over the new L'Oreal Eau De Teint Foundation which I bought during Priceline's 40% off sale (read it here) which is great for everyday wear. The consistency of this foundation is light and blends seamlessly into the skin without making my skin look cakey. For my oily skin gals out there, get on it!

I adore L'Óreal products to the moon and back and their lipsticks are no exception. During Priceline's 40% off cosmetics sales (read my haul here), I picked up the new Moisture Matte Lipsticks in the shades "Red Valentine" and "Spring Rosette" after getting a great recommendation from one of my girlfriends who work in Priceline. After wearing these two shades several times, I intended in picking up more during Priceline's BOGOF sale which resulted in me grabbing another 3 shades in "Glamour Fushia", "Bloody Mary" and "Cherry Crush". They don't have a large colour selection, I believe it only carries 8 shades from memory but I think there will be at least one colour that will attract to everyone.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't want anything for my birthday but obviously I don't expect people to buy me all the things that I want or anything at all really! Although this is a birthday wish list, it's things that I would like to spoil myself with the money I earn through working as a reward, I'm not the type of person to ask for things unless necessary! In saying that, I love the effort that my family and friends go through to choose a perfect gift. So I turn the big two one in less than two weeks and I'm excited to celebrate with family and friends! But aside from that, let's get on with the wish list :)

Hi friends, welcome back to my blog! I thought I would share my Current Skincare Routine with you guys because I believe with an effective skincare regime leads to glowing, flawless and beautiful skin. We're often asked the question, do we prefer high end makeup and drugstore skincare or high end skincare and drugstore makeup. I've answered the question before and of course I am more willingly to spend money on expensive skincare as having a flawless base to apply makeup is essential to me! Surely I've rambled on enough so let's get started with my morning skin care routine.

I've been really enjoying Stila's "In The Light" eyeshadow palette (read my review here) and since then I've jumped on the Stila bandwagon and picked up their Stay All Day Eyeliner in Black which is raved about on YouTube and the blogosphere. I bought this at the Mecca Maxima counter for $32AUD which is mind-blowing for such a small product! Haha. It comes in a range of colours, from black to pink to teal and all swatches of them look absolutely gorgeous, it makes me want to purchase more but my first impression of this eyeliner wasn't a great experience. But before we get into the formula, let's talk about their claims and also the exterior.

Hi guys, welcome back to my blog! March is just flying by like the rest of the year and it's been awhile since I've done a TAG post so I thought it would be fun to answer some questions today! If you haven't done this tag yet, I tag you to do it as well but if you have then please leave a link down below to that post because I would love to read it! Let's get straight into it shall we?!

Benefit Cosmetics wins the award for the cutest packaging on blushes because it's different from other companies. I love the look and feel of boxed blushes (like from The Balm) because it's creative, stores the product neatly and just great to look at and store in your vanity. Several months back, I ordered the Benefit Rockateur blush in my Custom Benefit Kit (read it here) and was so excited for it to arrive since it was described as a rose toned blush with subtle gold shimmer. I am a shimmery blush kind of girl because it adds a beautiful flush to the cheeks and also a glow to the cheek bones. The box is detailed in lace with the colours yellow and pink. It retails for $23USD on their website (not including shipping) and $53AUD at the Benefit Counter in Myer.

Hi guys, long time no blog. I've been on a little writers block and work has occupied most of my time. But I'm back with a haul which I'm really excited about, especially a new foundation that has JUST landed on Priceline's shelves. So most of you may know, there was a massive 40% off cosmetics sale going over two days (Tuesday and Wednesday) and I got my hands on a few goodies, most being lipsticks. Let's jump straight into it.
Monday, 3 March 2014
Hi friends, back with another swatch post on the new Too Faced Sweethearts blushes which recently hit the shelves at Mecca Cosmetica! I've never owned any face products from Too Faced before so I wouldn't know how they would perform but I had very high expectations since this is a high end brand and the price tag of these two blushes don't come cheap. They retail at Mecca for $42.95 a piece but if you're looking for a cheaper alternative, it retails at Beauty Bay for $37.20 which is still expensive in my opinion! But you guys, the first day they released this blush, the lovely sales assistant from the Highpoint Shopping Centre store swatched it on my hand and I fell in love with "Peach Beach" shade because it had a beautiful coral glow to it so I couldn't pass it up. My boyfriend then gifted me the "Something About Berry" blush for our anniversary. What a gentleman!

Hi bloggers, I thought I might share my everyday makeup routine that I wear on most days whether I'm going shopping, having lunch, going to work or running errands! I love reading other people's makeup routines or Get Ready With Me types of videos just because I like seeing what products they're using.

Hello loves! Long time no post, I know, I know!
Thinking about sporting a red lip for an upcoming event? Well I'm going to recommend you some great products that you will be able to find in your local Priceline, at an affordable price to perfect the red lip. I'm not the one to use lip liner underneath my lipstick but from my own personal experience, it's much better to outline and fill in your lips with the right colour lip liner to keep the lipstick from feathering or bleeding. I recently purchased the Face Of Australia Mechanical Lip Liner in "Red" and I can't say good enough things about this product, it is highly pigmented, true to colour, is retractable and also has an inbuilt sharper to ensure that your pencil is always precise. This lip liner retails at Priceline for $9.95 which is a steal because the product itself is awesome.

Hi everyone! I have finally given in and purchased a new theme from Etsy! I've been looking for a beautiful, classic and simple theme for my blog as I love the simplicity of black and white shades. I also love pops of colour but I think I will incorporate colour later in the future. I would really love your feedback on my new theme so I can tweak it to the best of my ability for my lovely readers! Thank you for reading, xx
Maybelline Fit Me Stick Foundation | Review
Hi guys, back to do another review on the Maybelline Fit Me Stick Foundation which has been talked about all over YouTube and the blogosphere. This product recently hit shelves in Priceline roughly, a week and a half to two weeks ago I believe and when I picked mine up, it wasn't even on the shelves yet! It retails for $15.95 but I bought mine on sale for $13.55 when Priceline was having 15% off Maybelline products.

We know ELF is to be an affordable drugstore makeup brand that carries some amazing products such as their brushes, eyeshadows and blushes. And from watching YouTube Gurus rave about ELF Studio blushes, I thought why not grab some since they're so inexpensive?! If you read my last post (you can read it here), I made a recent purchase from iHerb and picked up the blushes 'Candid Coral' and 'Tickled Pink' for $3 a piece. That's a great bargain!
Monday, 3 February 2014
Hi friends! It's already February, isn't that crazy? It felt like yesterday was just the New Year! Just wanted to start off by saying Happy Belated Chinese New Year to all of you. I hope you have a safe and prosperous year filled with love, happiness and new opportunities! Now for the fun part, first haul of the year!
I made an iHerb order on the 17th and received it on the 28th (longer than I expected but it's okay!) I picked up only four items that I've had my eye on and I thought, why not? I picked up the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge, ELF Stipple Brush, ELF Blush in Candid Coral and Tickled Pink. Since it's the start of February, I've actually used some of these products already so I'll just give you guys a quick insight to how I'm liking them!

Hooray for my first Lime Crime purchase!
Hello again lovelies, I'm back with a new product that I would love to share with you guys and from reading the title, you know what it is. Yes, it's the new Lime Crime Velvetines collection and I picked up the colour Red Velvet. It's a beautiful deep red shade with a slight blue undertone (my teeth definitely looks whiter wearing this on!) I picked this baby up at Lipstik Shoes in Highpoint Shopping Centre about a week and a half ago and retails for $24 (pretty cheap in comparison to online!). It comes in 3 shades, Red Velvet (Red), Suedeberry (coral) and Pink Velvet (bright pink). At first glance, they seemed very intimidating because the colours were so vibrant, but after swatching them, the colours looked absolutely amazing and super pigmented with just one swipe. When applying one coat onto my hand, I noticed that the colour was quickly setting into a matte finish but if you were to apply another coat, obviously it will take longer to set.Tuesday, 21 January 2014

Hi there loves! It's been awhile since my last post so I apologise for my absence. It's been a super hot this week (still going strong) so I haven't really had any motivation to do anything but I've missed blogging a lot so I thought I would do a tag for you guys!

This famous eyeshadow palette has been a favourite amongst many YouTube gurus and beauty bloggers and I'm happy to say that I have jumped on the bandwagon! My boyfriend and Nhi from Miss Blushaholic bought me the exact same palette for Christmas so I had to return one and exchange it to something else, but nonetheless, I love them both! Anyways, today I will be showing you some close up shots and also showing you swatches of the palette and of course, my thoughts on it.
