Collective Haul | July and August

Tuesday 16 September 2014

Yes, I've done it again. I've gone out and punched a hole in my wallet but you know what? I'm loving everything that I've bought so far and thought it would be fun to share a little haul of all the products I've accumulated over the past two months. I'm pretty sure you all went a little crazy during Priceline's 50% off Maybelline sale and also Mecca Maxima's official price drop and of course I had to pick up a few items since I've had my eye on them for awhile!

Maybelline Matte Maker Pressed Powder
I was interested in purchasing this powder after watching a review from Sandy (Eyes For Makeup) in one of her recent videos. She said that the powder kept her foundation nice and mattified throughout the whole day which was a winner in my books since I have oily/combo skin! I've used the powder a few times since I've purchased it but will give you my honest opinion in another post!
Maybelline Colour Elixers
I've been eyeing these lip glosses ever since they were released in America and raved about on YouTube. I picked up the shades 'Rose Redefined', a nude rosy pink and 'Raspberry Rhapsody' a deep violet purple for the Winter time, even though Winter is over here in Melbourne! I can tell you now that these lip glosses didn't disappoint. I'm very impressed by the formula and colour payoff and can't wait to give you guys a review.
Maybelline The Colossal Waterproof Mascara
An oldie but a goodie, definitely had to repurchase one of my favourite mascaras that you've all heard me talk about before! If you haven't read my previous post, I love this mascara for defining and adding volume to my short, stubby lashes. It smudges the tiniest bit but nothing a cue tip couldn't fix!
Maybelline Fit Concealer in 10 Light
Again, another repurchase. I have used the Fit Me concealer for a while now and predominately use it to highlight underneath my eyes, forehead and chin. It's easily blendable, buildable and feels super lightweight on the skin. It also doesn't crease or define any wrinkles or line you might have and is perfect for everyday wear.
Maybelline Colour Show Eyeliners in Metallic Blue and Purple
I typically don't use pencil eyeliners on my bottom lash line anymore but when I swatched these two shades in store, I couldn't resist because I know how nicely they wouldn't compliment brown/hazel eyes. As you can tell, I purchased a metallic blue and cool toned purple to add a pop of colour to my eyes during the Spring time without having to eyeshadows. Great pigmentation but the only downfall is that I have to sharpen them! I'm too used to mechanical pencils :(
NARS Laguna Bronzer
One of the most talked about products in the makeup world is the famous NARS Bronzing Powder in the shade 'Laguna'. I've been so skeptical about this bronzer and if I should just give in and purchase it but I could never do it! But when Mecca announced their official price drop, I picked up the last one straight away. I've used this bronzer once since purchasing it and I can safely say that it might become a favourite in the future :)
NARS Torrid Blush
Yay! Another NARS blush to add to the collection, this time my boyfriend gifted me the shade 'Torrid' which is a beautiful coral peach with fine golden shimmer. It's not as shimmery as Orgasm and adds the most subtle highlight to the cheeks which I absolutely adore. One light swipe of my brush adds a whole lot of colour to my cheeks so a little goes a long way.
Bare Minerals Eyeshadow Duo in "The Epiphany"
My very first Bare Minerals product and it didn't disappoint at all. The two shades compliment each other beautifully, especially with the metallic taupe shade as a base colour. I like how it's one metallic shade and also a complimenting matte shade. I'm not too sure if it's the same across all their eyeshadow duos but even so, I think all their shade selections are impeccable. I haven't used both shades together but I've swatched them and used the taupe shade and it's amazing!
Bare Minerals duo pack with Lash Domination and Marvellous Moxie Lipgloss
I went out on a limb and picked up a small duo pack which contains the Bare Minerals Lash Domination and a nude Marvellous Moxie lipgloss. After watch Heart from That's Heart and seeing how beautifully long and full her lashes were from using the Lash Domination, it kinda convinced me that my lashes would look as lovely as hers but unfortunately .. it didn't haha. But that's another story - I did hear amazing things about the lipgloss though so I'm excited to use it!
Glamglow Youthmud Mask
Another cult fave and it has worked it's way into my skincare routine. I decided to pick up a sample of this mask to see how much skin would react to the product due to having sensitive skin but I can safely say that I didn't notice any break outs or blemishes after using this mask which is a plus! It retails for $22 (for the sample) and $64 for the original size (I think, not too sure!).
Stila 'Not So Nude' palette
Again, I went out on a whim and kind of picked this up this palette because it was affordable and had great reviews! It comes with six eyeshadows, one highlighter and a convertible lip and cheek colour. This palette is so cute and fits in the palm on my head. I think it would be really ideal for traveling just because you have a majority of products in one palette! This palette only retails for $20 on Urban Outfitters :)
Tangle Teezer
This brush is a GAME CHANGER. I used it the first day it got delivered to me and conveniently while I was getting ready! It doesn't tug at my hair as much as a paddle brush and gently detangles their hair without being too harsh. I would buy another 10 of these just to keep as back ups because I love it so much. Get on it guys, it retails for $30 at Priceline but $16 on Urban Outfitters!
Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade in 'Dark Brown'
Can I get a woop woop for my first Anastasia product? Honestly, I'm quite afraid to use this dip brow just because I've never used anything this pigmented in my life! I'm so used to the soft affect of using brow powders now transitioning to a brow gel kinda formula scares me! Make sure to leave some tips for me in the comments below :'(
Lorac Pro Palette
The famous Lorac Pro Palette is finally in my possession and it's pretty funny how this palette was bought. Same goes with the Lorac Skinny Palette. I was shopping on Amazon and added these two palettes into my cart and I wanted to check how much it would be after shipping and handling. So after confirming my address, blah blah, I pressed a button where it said "Confirm order in AUD" thinking that it would just convert US Dollars to AUD but nope, it confirmed my order. NOW I know it's my fault and it actually says the word confirm, but I probably zoned out and clicked it anyway. ANYWAYS I'm so excited to use this palette, there are so many different shades to create countless amounts of looks. Woohoo!
Lorac Skinny Palette
I love love love the look of this palette, it's basically a bigger Naked Basics palette because it's tiny as well! Great for travelling and perfect shade selection to create a nice day to night look. Can't wait to use this palette as well!

That concludes the end of my massive haul, I hope you all enjoyed! I'm really excited to use my new products, if you would like a review on any of them, just drop a comment down below! Please follow my FacebookTwitterInstagram and Bloglovin' for more updates :)

Until next time, xx
