Primping with the Stars ☆ | Benefit Cosmetics

Wednesday 18 September 2013

Hi guys, welcome back to my blog. I recently made a trip to the Benefit Counter in Myer and picked up a kit called 'Primping with the Stars' (gorgeous name!) To be honest, I really didn't need to pick this up at all but after I show you what's inside, you'll be wanting it too! And also because I had a $20 gift voucher that I wanted to use so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity.

If you are not familiar with Benefit kits, definitely jump onto their website or go into a store and take a look at them because they contain sample sized items of their products (such as Benetint, Posietint, They're Real -depending on the box-). So if you're on their edge about purchasing a full sized product but aren't too sure about it, then I suggest buying their makeup kits and testing them out first before buying the full size. And also, if you're a fan of convenient makeup, this is stored in one box that you can take with you on travel!

Lets jump straight into it!

This box kit contains sample size Stay don't Stray eye/concealer primer, Girl Meets Pearl highlighter, Some kind-a Gorgeous foundation in Medium, POREfessional, Benetint Cheek Stain and They're Real Mascara. This kit is perfect in creating a natural and flawless look which is wearable for everyday. It also contains a a mirror with a 'Tips and Tricks' booklet which indicates how to use each product which is handy.
Stay Don't Stray Eye Primer |
This is an awesome primer or base for eyeshadows as the formula is thick which helps the eyeshadow cling on better making the longevity of colours last awhile longer and the colours more vibrant. It applies smoothly and I like the consistency of it and would buy the full sized product!
POREfessional Primer and Girl Meets Pearl Highlighter |
I'm pretty sure everyone is familiar with the famous POREfessional primer and I can also tell you that it works wonders and creates a very smooth canvas to apply foundation. It instantly reduces the look of pores and I think it's worth the price that it's at. It's lightweight, applies seamlessly and long wearing.

There's not much to say about Girl Meets Pearl besides that it's just a beautiful golden highlighter which is going to be great for the summer time! I can't wait to use it!
Benetint Stain |
Another famous product from Benefit is their Benetint and what I'm going to say will make you go 'WHAT?!' This is my least favourite product from the kit, the colour doesn't show up well on my skin because maybe it's too light but I'm just saying that this was my experience with it. I love the concept of it being a cheek and lip stain but when it's on my cheeks, it's barely noticeable and I would have to apply another blush on top of it. As for lips, I still have to give that a go so hopefully that works out!
Some kind-a Gorgeous Foundation |
I am in love with this foundation! It is lightweight, blends into the skin easily and has a smooth and matte finish. The down side is that it is very sheer coverage but can be built up to the coverage of a BB Cream. So when I'm having a good skin day, I like to take this and a concealer and just apply it to the areas that have redness and dark spots. It's creamy, rich in texture and I would absolutely buy the full sized product of this.
They're Real! Mascara |
I've tried this mascara before and I really like it! It defines my eyelashes, hold the curl and creates thick, long looking lashes without clumping. I love the wand and it also has tiny rubber bristles at the end which can be used to reach those hard-to-get spots like the inner tear duct! I'm glad they included this mascara because I could basically just apply this without having to put on eyeliner! Love this!
Overall, I am really enjoying this kit for those days where I don't feel like wearing heavy makeup and applying products such as foundation. Everything in this box is great quality and I think Benefit has done a great job on choosing the products for this kit because I know I certainly am enjoying it. They have a range of products to test out and for the price that it's at, I think it's worth the money.

This kit retails at $59 from the Benefit Counter in Myer but because I had my gift card it went down to $39 so I was really happy with that! If you guys are eager to try out some Benefit products, go ahead and buy a kit! They have so many out there which caters for foundation and bases to eyeshadows and primers to blush and lip glosses!

This concludes the end of my post so I really hope you guys enjoyed!

Comment down below if there is anything YOU think I should try from Benefit because I love trying new products!

  1. Shame Benetint doesn't show up well on your cheeks though! I still want to try it though, maybe it'll show up better on my fair skin.

I really do like the Benefit kits though, it's a pretty good value and you get to try out various items c:

  2. I'm in love with Benefit!
I'm of a light-medium skin tone and I let Benetint sit on my skin for a 2 seconds and blend quickly
I find that if I blend immediately the colour doesn't show up, maybe that'll work for you!
    Great kit! :)
