RiRi ♥ MAC Cream Colour Base in Diamonds | Swatch and Review

Wednesday, 16 October 2013

Hi there beauties, welcome back to my page! It feels like forever since I've written up a post so today I thought I would share with you guys the latest product to hit the MAC counters in Australia. And yes, you guys have guessed it; it's the RiRi ♥ MAC Collection and I unfortunately only picked up one item (since everything here in Australia is a little over priced in my opinion!) This is actually my first MAC purchase in Australia so I'm a little excited even though many people do it on a daily basis haha.

I picked up the Cream Colour Base in the colour 'Diamonds' (I'm in love with the name) and it was literally love at first sight. I have never seen a review on this product; besides the lipsticks or the bronzer and blush duo so when I saw this, I knew I had to get it straight away. I've been using highlighters more often lately because I think they just add a beautiful glow to the face and livens up the complexion without making the skin look overly oily. It retails for $36 which I know is quite expensive for a highlighter but I definitely think it's worth it as the product works quite well on my skin.
From looking at the highlighter without swatching it, it may seem a little too bronze-y for lighter skin tones but looks can be very deceiving. This highlighter has a light champagne undertone with a frosty finish, it is easy to blend into the skin and can be used subtly with a light hand or if you're looking more for a natural glow, you can definitely build this highlighter up but bare in mind that once it's blended into the skin, the highlighter will be more prominent when light hits directly onto that part of the skin, if the light doesn't catch the right parts of your face, it almost seems that this highlight is barely there.
This is what the highlighter looks like with just one swipe, without being blended and as you can see, it's a lovely highlighter to just apply to the highest points of your checks, on your cupids brow and also a little underneath your brow bone which is where I typically apply most highlighters.

So that's a wrap for this post! I hope you guys enjoyed reading and please let me know if you have tried any of the other products from this collection down below!

P.S: How amazing does Rihanna look in this photo? She is absolutely stunning! Also, I'm in love with this collections packaging; rose gold, Rihanna's signature, mirrored finish and classic.
