Essence, Rimmel and Lush | Collective Haul

Tuesday, 8 October 2013

Hello there my lovely bloggers, how are you today? Daylight savings has finally changed in Australia meaning that the sun stays out for much longer which is a bonus! So I haven't been too crazy with going shopping lately, but I did pick up a few things in the last month so I thought I would show you!
1. Essence Me and My Ice Cream Shimmer Pearls and Cream Blush
When I first heard about this collection, I knew I wanted to try the cream blush as they resembled the Maybelline Bouncy Blushes which isn't available here in Australia. It took me a good two weeks to actually find these two products and when I saw them at one of the Pricelines in the city, I picked up both products. I've tried both these products already and if I was to choose one product to return, it would be the Shimmer Pearls. I'm not saying that it's a terrible product but it does show up quite sheer on my skin which I don't hate necessarily but I wish it had a bit more pigmentation. As for the cream blush, I really love the colour and pigmentation of this product, it shows up brilliantly on my skin and gives me a peachy sheen to my cheeks, definitely a winner in my books! So if you are looking for a pink/peachy blush that lasts for quite awhile, blendable, lightweight and cheap? Go ahead and pick this bad boy up! I believe the Shimmer Pearls were $5.75 and the Cream Blush was $4.95.

2. Rimmel Scandaleyes Micro Eyeliner and Match Perfection Loose Transparent Powder
As you guys might know, ASOS stocks Rimmel on their website and maybe about two weeks ago they were having a 1/2 price(?) sale on all Rimmel products so I thought, why not?! This is my first ASOS order and let me tell you, the way they packaged my products was terrible. They basically threw my products in a box, put the receipt it, put sticky tape around it and sent it off. Terrible! But anyways, I had seen good reviews about the Micro Eyeliner but when it came it applying it on my eyes, the tip of the brush was so hard and barely any product was coming out. I felt as if I was getting poked in the eye and didn't proceed in using it. That product was a no-no for me! The loose powder is a different story, I am really enjoying this powder as it leaves my face mattfied and lightweight. The powder is very smooth and applies gently on the face without caking up or being patchy. The eyeliner wasn't on sale so it retailed for $9.95 and the Translucent Powder was $8.15 after sale so yeah! Quite a bargain.

3. Lush Tea Tree Water
So I just bought this product recently so I haven't gotten a chance to try it but I've heard amazing things about this toner as it aids for oily skin! If you guys are interested in a review of this product, please comment down below!
So that's they end of my haul, I hope you guys enjoyed reading as much as I did writing it! Let me know in the comments what you would like to see on my blog! Until next time, xx

  1. a tip for the scandal eyes eye liner: just stand it with the tip facing down for a short period (so the ink will flow to the tip) and see if it works better!

Is the Rimmel loose powder much different to the coveted stay matte powder?

    1. I know me too! Especially Bourjois! The loose powder is quite similar to the Stay Matte Powder in my opinion, just a little messier! Haha. I think I would prefer the Stay Matte powder over this loose powder just because it's more convenient to carry around, but I do think both products are awesome!
