MECCA MAXIMA HOLIDAY RELEASES?! | 2014

Monday 10 November 2014

Hi guys, happy to see you back on my blog! Now today isn't a review, nor a haul, nor a swatch post .. it's something a little more special. Obviously from reading the title, you would already know what it's about but just for the hell of it, I'll tell you anyways. Mecca Maxima/Cosmetica have launched all holiday palettes, gift sets and new products on their website! Yes, I know, we all have to keep our cool but they're available to shop now via Mecca Maxima and will be released in stores on the 11th of November, so keep your eyes peeled for the new releases from various brands such as NARS, Smashbox, Glamglow, Hourglass and many more.

Throughout this post, I'll be showing you some of the most anticipated holiday sets along with my thoughts and their prices. So let's begin before I start rambling shall we?

Hourglass Ambient Blush Wardrobe
One of the most talked about palettes going around the blogosphere at the moment and I must say, it's a stunning palette just from looking at the photo. It includes three shades, Incandescent Electra, Luminous Flush and Mood Exposure. I own one of the Hourglass blushes in Diffused Heat and I'm in love with it - it just adds a really gorgeous glow to the face. This palette retails for $76.
Too Faced La Belle Carousel
I have always been a fan of Too Faced packaging and this year's Christmas collection is no exception. This holiday set comes with two eyeshadow palettes, two blush and bronzer duos and deluxe sample of the Better Than Sex mascara arranged in a shape of a carousel! These would be great stocking stuffers for your friends and family or just a great gift overall. This set retails for $65.
Too Faced Melted Kisses
If you love the Melted Lip Sticks from Too Faced then I don't see why you wouldn't pick up this set. It comes with four deluxe sized samples of their most popular shades - Nude, Peony, Fuchsia and Berry. Again, I think this would be a great little gift for someone who is just starting out with makeup or just really addicted to lip products! It retails for $34.
Too Faced Under the Mistletoe Set
This set is too cute to pass up! It comes with their 3 best selling creme lipsticks in neutral shades which compliment many skin tones. It's said to be 'infused with lip conditioning white lotus flower extract and collagen-stimulating peptides'. An additional gift is the super cute, shimmery pink makeup case which is used to store the lipsticks or other makeup bits and used majority when travelling. It retails for $38!
Too Faced Sugar and Spice Set
Next on the Too Faced Christmas Train is their Sugar and Spice eyeshadow palette which has mostly neutral shades with the exception of some darker shades to deepen up a look. It comes with a variation of satin, shimmers, glitters and of course, mattes for an all rounder makeup lover like myself. I wouldn't say that you would NEED this palette since the shades are so basic but if you like to collect palettes then I guess the packaging is worth it! This palette retails for $52.
Too Faced Beauty Wishes and Sweet Kisses Set
Lastly on the Too Faced Christmas Train, we have a palette housing three neutral eyeshadows (best shadows from their Chocolate Bar Palette), their famous Chocolate Soleil Bronzing Powder, luminous Sun Bunny Bronzer and a pinky lipgloss. I think this would be a great little palette to travel with, but because the shade selection is quite neutral, I think it would be better suited for fair to medium skin tones. This set retails for $46.
Too Faced Everything Nice Set
JUST KIDDING! This is the final holiday set from Too Faced and it's probably one of my favourites. It comes with twenty beautiful eyeshadows with a selection of warm neutrals, cool browns and shimmery jewel tones, two blushes 'Sweet Pink' and 'Papa Don't Preach', Chocolate Soleil Bronzer and a lovely highlight shade in 'Inner Light'. Along side the face products is a small collection brushes (cruelty free) and this set also includes one of their best selling mascars, Better Than Sex. Great palette to add to your collection if you're looking for something that includes everything from eyes to face. It retails for $74.
NARS Laser Cut Set
Yay, I'm so excited for NARS! So here's a look at their first holiday palette which includes three trending eyeshadows (perfect for creating a smokey eye) on the top layer and on the bottom layer, they've included a blush in 'Day Dream' and best selling bronzer in 'Laguna' with a deluxe sized sample of their 'Dolce Vita' lipgloss incased in a beautiful, chic, white packaging. Again, great for travel and isn't overwhelming. This set retails for $79.
NARS Narssist Smokey Eye Compact
A gorgeous little compact to add to the collection if you're looking for the perfect smokey eye palette. It contains three shades with varying finishes, an angled #43 eyeshadow brush and Larger Than Life Long-wear Eyeliner in 'Via Veneto'. This retails for $79.
NARS Algorithm Laguna Palette
I am a big fan of the Laguna bronzer and have been using it every single day since I purchased it. My bronzer game changed when I became a proud owner of the Ita Brush and haven't used a different brush since! Now NARS have released a holiday palette which includes BOTH products for $79! Great deal, sensational products and I would snatch it up straight away. Although the Ita brush is smaller, but better for travel reasons, I think it will work just as well as the original. I'm really excited about this palette!
NARS Modern Future Set
A wonderful holiday set that carries a nourishing lipstick, gorgeous blush and beautiful nail varnish which all work in conjunction with each other. A subtle pastel pink carries through all three products which adds a touch of girliness and feminism. I think it's a cute little set to gift to someone who loves pink! It retails for $65.
NARS Kabuki Brush Set
You guys already saw how much I love the NARS Ita Brush so naturally I backflipped off the wall when I found out that there were a set of Kabuki brushes being released. It comes with a flat top brush, used essentially for buffing powders, an angled brush which would be great for applying brush, bronzer or highlight and a small fluffy eyeshadow brush for blending shades seamlessly into the crease. The price is high but for the quality, I think this would be a great holiday to give to yourself because you deserve nothing but the best! With it's classic yet chic design, it adds edgey-ness (not even a word, LOL) and moderness (also not a word, but you know what I mean!) This retails for $166!
NARS Hardwired Blush
A new addition to the NARS blush family, comes a lovely tanned, rosy blush incased in its classic packaging with intricate details on the front. I think this is suited for all skin tones whether it's using a light or heavy hand. The retail price of this brush isn't enclosed.
NARS Hardwired Lipsticks
How could NARS release a new blush without some new lipsticks? Releasing three new shades, it includes Adriatic (described as a 'glistening soft cream'), Femme Fleur (described as a 'shimmering brick red with gold pearl') and lastly, Deadly Catch (described as 'crimson'). Personally, I'm not a fan of the shades myself but I'll have to will until I see the real deal. It retails for $44 a piece.
NARS Virtual Domination Palette
If you're an owner of the Guy Bourdin blush palette, then I think you'll enjoy this one as well. With a selection of three stunning blushes, it also contains a glowing highligher and matte bronzer. The blushes include Deep Throat, Sex Fantasy and Final Cut, a highlighter in Miss Liberty and matte bronzer in Laguna. I LOVE THIS PALETTE, since missing out on the Guy Bourdin, I know already that I need this palette in my life. It retails for $86!

NARS Digital World Set
Made for the convenience of just being able to throw into your handbag, these are a made a little smaller than the original lip pencils. They come in a gorgeous box which contains 5 jumbo lip pencils which offers a satin finish, whist enriched with vitamins to ensure hydration with amazing colour payoff. The five chosen lip pencils are ranked their best selling shades which includes some neutrals but also some brights. The shades include, Cruella, Iberico, Yu, Decanso and Torres del Paine. This set retails for $65.
NARS Tech Fashion Set
If you're a gloss lover than you'll be happy to know that NARS have created a travel sized lipgloss set for your convenience! It comes with 4 best selling Larger Than Life glosses which is said to deliver 'glistening shine, sheer colour and nourishing properties to the lips'. It contains four shades which are, Shimmery Peach Sorbet, Shimmery Sheer Fig, Shimmery Sheer Raspberry and Sheer Ruby. This retails for $52.

GlamGlow Gift Sexy
If you're a fan of GlamGlow like myself, then you're going to love this holiday set. It comes with a full size ThirstyMud Hydrating Treatment, deluxe sample of the SuperMud Clearing Treatment and deluxe sample of the YouthMud Tinglexfoliate Treatment. I would recommend these for all skin types, but if you have sensitive skin then I suggest getting a sample at your closest Mecca counter. Good value and great products, it retails for $92.
Smashbox Cherry Smoke Photo Op Eyeshadow Palette
Smashbox is coming out with a selection of holiday palettes this year and the first one is a travel friendly eyeshadow palette. It contains shades to achieve a natural or deep smokey eye for ideal for day to night wear. I think the shades look gorgeous especially the berry/red shade which would be perfect for the autumn or winter time. This little gem retails for $52.

Smashbox Be Legendary Lip Gloss Set
I've never tried any of Smashbox lip glosses but this holiday set will definitely be something I'll be looking into. Some of these lipglosses are part of their Be Legendary collection and only a handful were selected to be apart of this set based on their best sellers. Azalea, Legendary and Pout are part of Be Legendary and there are two limted edition shades in Gilt and Midnight. This set retails for $38.
Bare Minerals The Magic Act
I really like the concept of this palette, I know it's just another eyeshadow and blush palette but I'm loving the packaging! And since this is a first for Bare Minerals, I think they've put thought into this palette, ensuring that it suits all audiences. Some really nice, neutral eyeshadows with an additional highlighter, bronzer and two blushes. If you're familiar with the Lorac Pro To Go, the concept kind of reminds me of that and the way it folds into a small compact making it easier to travel with. This retails for $52.
Bare Minerals Kissing Booth
Yay another lip set! I guess there's a complimenting lip set to go with The Magic Act! This set contains 6 Marvelous Moxie glosses which apply a sheer to medium coverage whilst adding subtle hints of colour to the lips but keeping them hydrated at the same time. There's a selection of peaches, pinks and purples with varying cream and shimmery finishes. This retails for $35.
Bare Minerals Ready 12.0 Colour Extravaganza
This is a super interesting palette which contains 12 eyeshadows, which are grouped into the same colour family for easy use. Whether they're grouped in the same colour family, you can definitely mix and match shades but what separates this palette from others is its capability to pop out a 3 pan trio and take it on the go which I thought was pretty neat! The shadows are described to be creamy and intense. It retails for $52.
Stila 20th Anniversary Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner Collection
What's better than having a huge collection of eyeliners in every single colour you can think of?! I think any makeup addict would love this, especially if you're a fan of Stila's formulation. They're super rich, creamy and pigmented and come in 18 shades. You can take a look at them on their website or in stores! This collection retails for $280 which includes a special gold roll which holds all of the eyeliners and a BaubleBar bracelet as a keepsake.

That's the end of it guys! Sorry this post is up a little late but even so, I hope you enjoyed! Are you picking up any of these sets? Let me know! In the mean time, follow me FacebookTwitterInstagram and Bloglovin' for more updates! Until next time babes, xx
