The Skincare Tag

Wednesday 15 January 2014

Hi there loves! It's been awhile since my last post so I apologise for my absence. It's been a super hot this week (still going strong) so I haven't really had any motivation to do anything but I've missed blogging a lot so I thought I would do a tag for you guys!
Describe your skincare routine in five words...
Easy, consistent, enjoyable, time-consuming and awesome!

What's your skin type?
I'm typically oily around my T-Zone during the summer or in warmer weather and then dryer around my forehead and under eye area during winter or colder weather. I have a warm, yellow undertone and also have sensitive skin, depending on the product.

What's your favourite skincare product?
I only get one?! I would have to say .. my St Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub. I use this about 3-4 times a week and after using it, it makes me skin feel so clean, refreshed and healthy again because it has removed a dead layer of skin. I wouldn't call it gentle so if you don't enjoy scrubs that have little sand particles then I suggest to steer clear of this one but if you're looking for the same affect then I would suggest the Clean&Clear Deep Action Daily Scrub! :)

Top Blemish Zapper?
I'm in love with the Yes to Tomatoes Spot Stick which can be found in Priceline and I believe, Chemist Warehouse for about $11-$12 dollars from memory. I apply this on at night and use this when I can feel a pimple/blemish forming underneath the skin right before applying my moisturiser. It has a roller ball and is super cooling when touching the skin. It instantly reduces the size of the pimple and stops it from surfacing. I really love this product and I recommend it!

Face Wipes yay or nay?
I would have to say YAY when I'm feeling lazy (which is a lot of the time, haha) but I feel as if it doesn't remove EVERYTHING on my face so I also use a make-up remover also. I really like the Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes, it removes most of my makeup and I love the scent.

Toner yay or nay?
YAYY! I love using toners after removing my make-up and cleansing my face. It just gives that extra feel of freshness and removes any excess dirt or traces of makeup on my face. I especially love The Face Shop Rice Ceramide Moisture Toner which retails for about $10-$15 from memory. It's super gentle on my skin and a little goes a long way. And the amazing scent is a bonus!

High end skincare or high end makeup?
I would definitely go with High End Skincare (although I love makeup as well) because the key to having beautiful skin is using the right products that suits your skin with the addition of drinking plenty of water and having a healthy diet.

What's the most unusual skincare product you've tried?
I don't think I've ever tried something that I would call 'unusual' because if it was then I wouldn't use it due to having sensitive skin!

You're in a French pharmacy and can only pick one item - what is it?
I'm not too sure about this question, haha!

Tell us your top skincare tip?
Just to name a few:
  1. Be consistent with your skincare routine. Both morning and night.
  2. Know your skin type, if you suffer from certain ingredients then be sure to read the ingredients before purchasing. It will save you a lot of time later.
  3. Drink a lot of water, if you don't enjoy drinking water then try adding different fruits to give your water flavour. That way you're still keeping hydrated and helping your skin at the same time.
  4. Have fun with your skincare routine, don't think of it as a chore. Think of it as a therapy session :)
I hope you guys enjoyed reading this tag! I tag all of YOU to do it and leave a comment down below with your link so I can read it as well. Tell me what you wanna see on my blog and maybe you'll see it up! Remember to follow my social networks to keep updated :)

I hope you're having a wonderful day!
